Working in partnership with SCL, South Camberley is set to become a beacon for school sport and the wider curriculum. Utilising the vast experience of SCL in sports delivery, the children are already benefiting from the new arrangements and the advantages will keep on developing. New resources are in the pipeline, including table tennis and archery.
Michael Gove MP and other dignitaries gathered at South Camberley Primary and Nursery school.
“An inspiration”. These were the words used by Michael Gove MP to describe South Camberley Primary and Nursery School’s new PE and extended school provision.
Lewis Field, Managing Director of SCL, is delighted. “This is a unique partnership that will see significant benefits to many. The engagement in extra-curricular activities for the children will be inspiring. We also see this as an opportunity to develop our apprenticeship scheme with South Camberley being a flagship school for us.”
Phil Austen-Jones, Deputy Executive Headteacher, is thrilled with the developments at the school. “Our determination to deliver has been relentless and the rewards are already being seen. From a child who has learnt to rally in tennis in under a month to new plans to develop things further, the hard work has been worth it. In addition, our class teachers now have over 1000 additional hours to provide extra vital interventions for English and Maths.”
In addition, the school is set to provide holiday camps in partnership with SCL. Starting this summer, the camps will provide continuity of service with timings matching the regular school day and extended day.
