We are now entering into the next exciting phase of our journey and are looking for an outstanding HE Module Leader to join our team and help us achieve our vision.

 

THE ROLE

SCL are about to launch one of their most exciting projects to date and deliver a brand new provision working with De Montfort University to deliver a Foundation Degree (FdA) in Sports coaching and physical Education. This is a unique opportunity to make this your own and have a direct influence on its success.

We are looking for innovative and inspirational lecturers to join our team as we launch this new project. We need lecturers that have experience in and can take accountability for delivering modules in the following, forming a key part of the degree:

  • Anatomy & Physiology
  • Coaching, Teaching & Learning
  • Acquisition of Skill
  • Fundamentals of Sports Coaching
  • Initial Research Project
  • Sports Development
  • Fitness & Fitness Testing
  • Fundamentals of Physical Education
  • Practical Research Project
  • Sports Psychology for Coaches
  • Nutrition for Sports & Exercise
  • Management & Organistion of Sport
  • Sport in Society
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • Curriculum and Course Development

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DAY TO DAY DUTIES

  • Contribute to the student learning experience through effective planning and delivery of high quality learning and teaching
  • Implement assessment procedures in accordance with SCL and DMU policies
  • Participate in internal and external verification and moderation processes
  • Track, monitor and report learner performance, using agreed information systems
  • Contribute to the development, review and evaluation of the curriculum and report changes to students
  • Carry out course related administrative tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Undertake the role in the context of identified, agreed service standards and Quality Assurance policies and practices
  • Promote equality of opportunity and diversity in all aspects of the role, challenging inequality and discrimination and/or reporting concerns as appropriate in alignment with current legislation and SCL/DMU policy and practice

  • An undergraduate qualification in a relevant area
  • Extensive experience of teaching at HE level
  • A commitment and drive to excel in all that you do
  • A desire and passion to have maximum impact on progressing the career opportunities of young people
  • The ability to work well independently but also to be a real team player
  • Undertake an enhanced DBS check
